Meat and poultry labeling policies are constantly evolving to address regulatory requirements, marketing claims, and consumer demands, and 2019 will be no different. With new regulations affecting nutritional information and the nutrition facts panel, this workshop will provide an in-depth look at what companies should be doing now to make sure they are in compliance by the effective date. Additionally, the workshop will address FSIS policies on marketing claims (such as natural, organic, and animal production practices), sketch approvals vs. generic approvals, products names, protective coverings, and allergen statements. With speakers from both industry and USDA, workshop attendees will take away information that can be used to ensure compliance with new and current labeling initiatives.
