Dr. Trevor Smith has been a faculty member at the University of Guelph for 41 years and currently holds the position of adjunct professor in the Department of Animal Biosciences. His research interests are in the field of animal nutrition and feed toxicology with projects on the etiology and prevention of Fusarium mycotoxicoses, mycotoxin analysis of feedstuffs and toxic effects of feed-borne biogenic amines.
Dr. Smith is a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of British Columbia in 1970 and his master’s degree in animal nutrition at the University of Manitoba in 1974. Dr. Smith completed his Ph.D. in animal nutrition at Cornell University in 1977.
