Branch Chief of the Ocean, Wetlands and Streams Protection
Thomas McGill is Chief of the Ocean, Wetlands, and Streams Protection Branch at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 4, office in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, he manages the Clean Water Act section 404 dredge and fill permitting and enforcement programs, the ocean disposal program under the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act, and the South Florida Geographic Initiative. Mr. McGill has been with the EPA since 1993 and has previously managed various CWA programs including section 402 stormwater permitting, water quality standards, monitoring and assessment, Total Maximum Daily Loads, section 319 nonpoint source grants, and State Revolving Funds. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor degree and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He has been a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia since 1999. Mr. McGill lives in Atlanta with his wife and four children.
